Blanket HS Code description

Blanket harmonized system code

Product Overview Blankets, classified under the Harmonized System (HS) code 6301, are typically designed to provide warmth. They are made from a variety of materials such as wool, cotton, polyester, or a blend of these, and can be woven, knitted, or non-woven. The quality attributes of these blankets include thickness, durability, and softness. Within the HS Code 6301, blankets can be further classified into subcategories based on their material, process of manufacture, and whether they are electric or not. These products find vast commercial applications in industries such as hospitality, retail, healthcare, and humanitarian aid. Blankets under HS Code 6301 provide the value proposition of comfort, warmth, and durability, making them a competitive choice in the international market. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code for blankets is structured as follows: Chapter 63 (Other made-up textile articles), Heading 01 (Blankets and traveling rugs). This specific classification is based on the functionality and material composition of the product. When trading, blankets are commonly packaged in compressed bales or cartons to minimize shipping volume, and should be preserved in a dry environment to prevent damage. The quality of these blankets is usually determined by their weight per unit area (gsm), fiber content, and dimensional stability. Products classified under HS Code 6301 must comply with the World Trade Organization’s trade regulations and the specific import/export regulations of the participating countries. This professional classification ensures a streamlined customs process and supports the necessary trade and customs documentation.
