Brass fittings harmonized system code
Product Overview Brass Fittings, classified under HS Code 7412, are essential components used for connecting, controlling, and changing the direction of piping in a wide array of applications. These fittings are meticulously crafted from high-quality brass, known for its durability, corrosion resistance, and superior thermal conductivity. The physical specifications of these products vary significantly, with sizes, shapes, and threading patterns to accommodate diverse requirements. HS Code 7412 encompasses several subcategories, including brass elbow fittings, adapter fittings, tee fittings, and more, each designed for specific uses. Commercially, these brass fittings are indispensable in industries like food service and retail, where they are used in plumbing systems, gas lines, and heating systems. They also find substantial applications in various processing industries. Their value proposition lies in their robust build, versatility, and long service life, giving them a competitive edge in the market. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications Brass Fittings fall under the HS Code 7412, with the hierarchical breakdown as follows: Chapter 74 (Copper and articles thereof), Heading 7412 (Copper tube or pipe fittings), and the full 6-digit code 7412 representing Brass Fittings. The classification of these fittings under this specific code is due to their composition primarily from copper alloys and their common usage in pipe fitting applications. Trade considerations for brass fittings include sturdy packaging to prevent damage during transit and preservation methods to maintain their quality and prevent oxidation. The shipping requirements usually involve secure crating or palletizing for bulk orders. Quality standards are stringent for brass fittings, with most manufacturers adhering to ISO 9001 certification and other relevant industry standards. The technical specifications of these fittings, such as size, thread pattern, and pressure rating, are crucial measurable attributes for trade professionals. This detailed information aligns with the requirements of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and customs documentation standards, ensuring uncomplicated international trade transactions.
