Car cover HS Code description

Car cover harmonized system code

Product Overview A Car Cover, classified under HS Code 6307, is a specialized protective sheeting designed explicitly for shielding automobiles from external elements. Constructed from high-quality, durable materials such as polyester and polypropylene, these covers are designed to resist various environmental factors, including dust, dirt, rain, snow, and UV rays. The product under HS Code 6307 further categorizes into subcategories based on specific characteristics, such as size, material, and intended application, including sedans, SUVs, or trucks. Primarily, car covers find extensive use in the automotive industry, both for personal and commercial applications, such as car dealerships, car rental services, and auto repair shops. They offer a substantial value proposition by providing cost-effective protection solutions for vehicles, helping to maintain their aesthetic appeal and resale value. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The Car Cover belongs to the HS Code structure 6307.10, representing "Other made-up articles, including dress patterns," with a hierarchical breakdown into Chapter 63, Heading 07, and Subheading 10. The classification of car covers under this specific code is due to their nature as manufactured textile articles not classified under more specific categories. When it comes to trade considerations, car covers are typically packaged in compact, reusable storage bags for efficient shipment and storage. The preservation methods primarily include the use of waterproof and UV-resistant materials to enhance durability and lifespan. Shipping requirements usually involve considerations of volume and weight, given their lightweight and compact nature when folded. The quality standards for car covers are typically based on their material strength, durability, and level of protection against environmental factors, aligned with international trade classification systems and customs documentation standards.
