Dump truck HS Code description
Dump truck harmonized system code
Product Overview Dump trucks classified under HS Code 870410 are specialized heavy-duty vehicles engineered primarily for the transport and unloading of bulk materials. These vehicles feature a robust chassis coupled with a hydraulically operated open-box bed, designed to tilt and discharge cargo efficiently. Typically constructed with high-strength steel and equipped with advanced hydraulic systems, dump trucks under this classification exhibit superior load-bearing capacity, durability, and operational reliability. The product range within 870410 encompasses various subcategories, including rigid and articulated dump trucks, differentiated by their structural design and axle configuration. These vehicles find extensive application across construction, mining, and infrastructure development sectors, facilitating the movement of aggregates, soil, and construction debris. Their operational efficiency and adaptability position them competitively in international markets, offering cost-effective solutions for bulk material handling and site logistics management. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications HS Code 870410 is structured under Chapter 87 (Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock), Heading 8704 (Dumpers designed for off-highway use), with the subheading 10 specifying rigid dump trucks. This classification is predicated on vehicle design parameters including off-road capability, tipping mechanism, and intended bulk cargo transport function. For international trade, dump trucks are typically shipped partially assembled or as complete units, secured using heavy-duty crating or containerized transport with corrosion inhibitors to preserve metal components during transit. Compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards and adherence to emissions and safety regulations per UNECE norms are critical for customs clearance and market access. Documentation must align with WTO trade facilitation agreements, incorporating precise product descriptions, origin certificates, and valuation details to ensure seamless customs processing and tariff application. Packaging and handling protocols emphasize protection against mechanical damage and environmental exposure to maintain product integrity throughout global distribution channels.
