Coffee grinder HS Code description

Coffee grinder harmonized system code

Product Overview A Coffee Grinder, classified under HS Code 8210, is a specialized appliance designed to grind coffee beans into a uniform size, allowing for optimal extraction of the coffee's flavor during brewing. It possesses key characteristics such as adjustable grind size, varying processing levels from coarse to fine, and superior quality attributes including durability, efficiency, and consistency in performance. Falling under the HS Code 8210, coffee grinders are further categorized based on their specific designs, including blade grinders, burr grinders, and disc and conical grinders. Commercially, coffee grinders are used ubiquitously in food service sectors like cafes and restaurants, retail outlets, and processing industries where bulk grinding is required. The value proposition of the coffee grinders under HS Code 8210 lies in their ability to deliver a better-tasting brew, with their competitive advantages being their broad range of grinding options and consistent performance. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The Coffee Grinder fits into the HS Code structure as follows: Chapter 82 (Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons, and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal), Heading 10 (Hand-operated mechanical appliances, weighing 10 kg or less, used in the preparation, conditioning or serving of food or drink), and Subheading 00 (Coffee Grinders). The classification rationale pertains to the coffee grinder's functionality as a hand-operated or electric tool used in food preparation, specifically coffee brewing. Trade considerations for coffee grinders include packaging in secure, impact-resistant materials to prevent damage during transport, preservation in moisture-free environments to prevent rusting or corrosion, and shipping requirements observing standard weight and volume constraints. The quality standards for coffee grinders under HS Code 8210 are stringent, focusing on factors like durability, performance consistency, and safety, in compliance with WTO and customs documentation standards.
