Hologram stickers HS Code description
Hologram stickers harmonized system code
Product Overview Hologram stickers classified under HS Code 490890 are specialized adhesive labels featuring three-dimensional optical effects produced through micro-embossing and metallization techniques. These stickers typically range from 10 to 100 microns in thickness and are fabricated using multi-layered polyester films combined with diffractive optical elements to create secure visual authentication features. The product category under 490890 encompasses various subtypes including security holograms, decorative holograms, tamper-evident seals, and certification labels. These stickers are widely employed in food service packaging, retail product branding, and industrial processing to ensure product authenticity, prevent counterfeiting, and enhance consumer confidence. Their high-resolution diffraction patterns, durability against environmental factors such as UV exposure and moisture, and customizable sizing options position them as critical components within supply chain integrity and brand protection strategies. The value proposition lies in their ability to combine robust security features with aesthetic appeal, serving as both functional and marketing tools in international commerce. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The full HS Code for hologram stickers is 490890, structured hierarchically as follows: Chapter 49 (Printed Books, Newspapers, Pictures and Other Products of the Printing Industry), Heading 4908 (Transfers (Decalcomanias)), and Subheading 490890 (Decalcomanias; stickers including hologram stickers). This classification is justified by the product’s nature as printed adhesive labels designed for transfer application, incorporating specialized optical security elements. Trade considerations for hologram stickers include packaging in moisture-resistant, anti-static polybags or cartons to preserve adhesive properties and holographic integrity during transit. Preservation methods may involve climate-controlled storage to prevent delamination or discoloration, especially under high humidity or temperature fluctuations. Shipping typically adheres to standard palletization with protective cushioning to avoid mechanical damage. Quality standards align with ISO 9001 for manufacturing processes and ISO 14298 for security printing, ensuring reproducibility, adhesion strength (commonly between 1.5 to 3.5 N/cm), and hologram clarity. Compliance with WTO agreements and adherence to Harmonized System nomenclature facilitate accurate customs declarations and enable streamlined international trade operations.
