Inflatable pool HS Code description
Inflatable pool harmonized system code
Product Overview The inflatable pool, classified under HS Code 950699, is a portable recreational water containment unit constructed primarily from durable, flexible materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or reinforced vinyl. These pools are designed for temporary installation and feature inflatable chambers that provide structural support without rigid framing. Typical dimensions vary, with diameters ranging from 1.5 to 5 meters and depths between 0.3 to 1 meter, enabling varied capacity configurations. Manufacturing processes include multi-layer lamination and heat-sealing to ensure water-tight integrity and resistance to punctures and UV degradation. Under HS Code 950699, which broadly covers “Articles and equipment for general physical exercise, gymnastics, athletics, other sports (including table-tennis) or outdoor games, not specified or included elsewhere,” inflatable pools are categorized alongside similar leisure and sports equipment. Commercially, these pools serve multiple sectors including retail (seasonal consumer goods), hospitality (resort and hotel amenities), and recreational service providers. Their competitive advantages encompass portability, ease of setup, and cost-effective deployment compared to permanent pools, positioning them as versatile solutions in both domestic and commercial markets. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The inflatable pool is classified under HS Code 9506.99, where Chapter 95 designates “Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof,” Heading 9506 covers “Articles and equipment for general physical exercise, gymnastics, athletics, other sports (including table-tennis) or outdoor games, not specified or included elsewhere,” with Subheading 9506.99 specifying “Other articles and equipment for sports or outdoor games, not elsewhere specified.” This classification is justified by the product’s recreational function and its exclusion from more specific categories such as playground equipment or water sports gear. For international trade, inflatable pools are commonly packaged flat-packed in sealed polyethylene bags or reinforced cardboard cartons, optimized for space efficiency during shipping. Preservation measures include anti-UV coatings and desiccant packets to prevent moisture damage during transit. Compliance with ISO 8124 (safety of toys and recreational products) and relevant ASTM standards ensures product safety and material quality. Documentation must reflect adherence to WTO trade facilitation agreements, incorporating precise item descriptions, material composition, and dimension specifications to expedite customs clearance and maintain classification consistency across global markets.
