Knee pads HS Code description

Knee pads harmonized system code

Product Overview Knee pads classified under HS Code 630790 refer to textile articles designed specifically to provide protective cushioning for the knees during various occupational and recreational activities. These products are typically constructed from multi-layered textile composites incorporating materials such as high-density foam, neoprene, and reinforced fabric covers to enhance durability, flexibility, and impact resistance. Processing levels include cutting, sewing, lamination, and integration of fastening mechanisms such as adjustable straps or hook-and-loop closures, ensuring secure fit and ergonomic support. HS Code 630790 encompasses a broad range of textile articles excluding those specifically categorized elsewhere, with knee pads falling under subcategories related to other made-up textile articles. Commercially, knee pads under this classification find extensive application across food service sectors, retail environments, and industrial processing lines, where worker safety and comfort during kneeling tasks are paramount. The products distinguish themselves through compliance with industrial safety standards, offering cost-effective, reusable protection solutions tailored for high-frequency use, thereby positioning them competitively in international markets focused on occupational safety equipment. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 630790 is structured as follows: Chapter 63 covers “Other Made-Up Textile Articles; Sets; Worn Clothing and Worn Textile Articles,” with Heading 6307 specifically addressing “Other made-up articles, including dress patterns.” The subheading 630790 designates “Other made-up textile articles, not elsewhere specified or included,” under which knee pads are classified due to their nature as composite textile protective gear not covered by more specific headings. This classification is justified by the product’s primary composition of textile materials combined with protective padding, excluding mechanical or rigid protective devices. Trade considerations for these knee pads typically involve bulk packaging in moisture-resistant polybags or cartons to prevent textile degradation and contamination during transit. Preservation methods emphasize maintaining fabric integrity and cushioning resilience, with recommended storage conditions controlling humidity and temperature. Shipping protocols comply with international standards, ensuring proper documentation aligning with WTO agreements and harmonized system nomenclature. Quality standards often adhere to ISO textile testing methods and occupational safety certifications, facilitating seamless customs clearance and regulatory compliance across diverse international markets.
