Lace fabric HS Code description

Lace fabric harmonized system code

Product Overview Lace Fabric, classified under HS Code 5804, is a decorative, openwork fabric distinguished by complex patterns created by intertwining, looping, braiding or twisting threads. The textile is typically made from cotton, polyester, or blends of these materials and can be either machine-made or handcrafted. The key characteristics of this product include its intricate design, light weight, and semi-translucent nature. The HS Code 5804 encompasses a wide range of subcategories including machine-made lace (580410), hand-made lace (580421), and narrow woven fabrics (580620). The commercial applications of lace fabric are extensive and cover sectors such as apparel, home décor, and high-end fashion accessories. The market positioning of lace fabric emphasizes its aesthetic appeal, flexibility in design applications, and its ability to add a luxurious touch to products. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The full 6-digit HS Code for Lace Fabric is 5804.10, with the hierarchical breakdown being Chapter 58 (Special Woven Fabrics; Tufted Textile Fabrics; Lace; Tapestries; Trimmings; Embroidery), Heading 04 (Lace; Embroidery). The product falls under this specific code due to its unique weaving method which creates an openwork fabric with intricate patterns. Trade considerations for lace fabric include the necessity for careful packaging to prevent damage to the delicate material, preservation methods to maintain the quality and color of the fabric, and suitable shipping requirements to ensure the product remains in pristine condition. The quality standards for lace fabric in international trade are stringently set, with measures in place to assess the consistency of design, colorfastness, and durability. As Lace Fabric is a highly specialized textile product, adherence to WTO standards, customs documentation, and international trade classification systems is of paramount importance.
