Lcd writing tablet HS Code description
Lcd writing tablet harmonized system code
Product Overview The LCD writing tablet, classified under HS Code 961000, is an electronic device designed for digital handwriting and drawing applications. It features a slim, lightweight frame typically measuring between 8.5 to 12 inches diagonally, utilizing liquid crystal display (LCD) technology with pressure-sensitive input surfaces. The device operates without backlighting, ensuring energy efficiency and eye comfort. Key quality attributes include durable polymer LCD screens, low power consumption achieved via integrated non-volatile memory circuits, and responsive stylus interaction. Under HS Code 961000, which broadly covers "Writing or Drawing Instruments," subcategories encompass pens, pencils, markers, and related apparatus, with electronic writing tablets classified as specialized digital instruments. Commercially, these tablets serve diverse sectors including retail point-of-sale systems, educational tools, inventory management, and food service order-taking, offering real-time data input and easy content erasure. Positioned competitively, the product provides a cost-effective, reusable alternative to paper-based methods, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing material waste across multiple industries. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 961000 is structured as follows: Chapter 96—“Miscellaneous Manufactured Articles,” Heading 9610—“Writing or Drawing Instruments,” and Subheading 961000—specifically encompassing instruments for writing or drawing by hand, including electronic variants such as LCD writing tablets. This classification is justified by the device’s primary function as a manual input tool that replicates traditional writing instruments through digital means. Trade considerations mandate packaging that ensures protection from electrostatic discharge, moisture ingress, and mechanical shock, typically involving anti-static bags and rigid cartons. Preservation methods focus on maintaining device integrity during transit, including desiccant inclusion for humidity control. Shipping protocols align with international standards, adhering to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code where applicable. Quality standards conform to ISO 9001 manufacturing practices and comply with RoHS directives to restrict hazardous substances. Additionally, devices must meet electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements to ensure interference-free operation, supporting seamless customs clearance and compliance with WTO trade facilitation agreements.
