Microfiber towel HS Code description
Microfiber towel harmonized system code
Product Overview Microfiber towels classified under HS Code 630293 are textile articles composed predominantly of synthetic microfibers, typically polyester and polyamide blends, engineered for enhanced absorbency, durability, and quick-drying properties. These towels generally measure between 30 cm x 30 cm to 50 cm x 70 cm, with pile heights ranging from 1 to 3 mm, and undergo advanced finishing processes such as anti-bacterial treatment, colorfast dyeing, and lint-free weaving to meet rigorous performance standards. The HS Code 630293 encompasses microfiber towels within the broader category of “Other made-up textile articles, including dress patterns,” specifically under subheading 6302, which covers bath linen and kitchen linen, excluding terry toweling. Within this classification, microfiber towels are further segmented based on usage and textile composition, including kitchen cloths, cleaning cloths, and polishing towels. These products serve critical roles in food service establishments, retail outlets, and industrial processing sectors, valued for their ability to effectively clean, dry, and polish surfaces without abrasive damage or residue. Their competitive advantage lies in superior fiber technology that ensures longevity, hygiene compliance, and multi-surface applicability, positioning them as essential consumables in both commercial and institutional markets. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The microfiber towel is classified under the Harmonized System (HS) Code 630293, where “63” denotes Chapter 63 covering “Other made-up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags.” The subsequent heading “02” specifies “Bed linen, table linen, toilet linen and kitchen linen,” with subheading “93” identifying “Other kitchen linen, of textile materials.” This classification is grounded in the product’s composition, use, and manufacturing process, differentiating it from terry toweling (HS 630260) and other textile articles. For international trade, microfiber towels are commonly packaged in moisture-resistant polyethylene bags or shrink-wrap bundles, with carton dimensions optimized for palletization to prevent contamination and maintain product integrity during transit. Preservation methods include anti-fungal treatments and humidity control to comply with phytosanitary and customs regulations. Quality standards adhered to encompass ISO 9001 manufacturing protocols, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification for textile safety, and compliance with WTO rules of origin and valuation principles. These technical specifications ensure seamless customs clearance, accurate tariff application, and conformity with international trade documentation, supporting efficient cross-border distribution and regulatory compliance.
