Motorcycle parts & accessories HS Code description
Motorcycle parts & accessories harmonized system code
Product Overview Motorcycle Parts & Accessories classified under HS Code 871410 encompass a broad range of components specifically designed for assembly, maintenance, and enhancement of motorcycles and similar motor vehicles. This category includes mechanically and electrically functional parts such as brake systems, clutches, gearboxes, drive chains, and electrical wiring harnesses, as well as structural elements like frames and fuel tanks. Typically fabricated from high-strength metals, alloys, and engineered polymers, these parts undergo precision machining, heat treatment, and surface finishing processes to meet stringent durability and performance standards. Subcategories within this classification cover engine parts (e.g., pistons, cylinders), transmission components, suspension systems, and electrical and electronic accessories. Commercially, these products serve critical roles in aftermarket service, vehicle manufacturing, and repair operations across retail chains, authorized dealerships, and industrial maintenance providers. The value proposition lies in their compliance with international manufacturing tolerances, high interchangeability, and compatibility, which ensures operational reliability and reduces downtime for end-users globally. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications HS Code 871410 is structured within Chapter 87 (Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock), Heading 8714 (Parts and accessories of motorcycles), and the specific Subheading 871410 (Parts and accessories of motorcycles including mopeds). The classification is justified by the product’s intended application exclusively in motorcycles, differentiating it from parts for other motor vehicles or bicycles. Trade handling of these parts typically involves robust packaging solutions such as custom-molded crates, corrosion-inhibiting films, and moisture-resistant wraps to preserve component integrity during transit. Shipping requirements often mandate compliance with international standards like ISPM 15 for wooden packaging and adherence to IMO regulations when transported via maritime routes. Quality standards conform to ISO/TS 16949 for automotive parts manufacturing and relevant UNECE regulations, ensuring traceability and conformity to safety and environmental norms. Documentation supporting customs clearance includes detailed commercial invoices, Certificates of Origin, and technical datasheets specifying material composition, dimensional tolerances, and batch testing results, all aligned with WTO and harmonized system guidelines to streamline cross-border transactions.
