Pigment powder HS Code description

Pigment powder harmonized system code

Product Overview Pigment Powder, categorized under HS Code 3206, refers to colorants that are not soluble in the medium they are applied to, but rather exist as minute particles that disperse to achieve the desired color effect. This product comprises a wide range of colored, black, or white powders of organic or inorganic nature. Depending on their chemical composition, pigment powders can exhibit varying levels of lightfastness, heat stability, and chemical resistance, making them suitable for diverse commercial applications. Under HS Code 3206, Pigment Powder is further classified into subcategories including inorganic pigments (320611), preparations based on titanium dioxide (320619), and other colorants (320649). These pigments serve a myriad of market sectors, from the paint and coating industry to plastics, printing inks, cosmetics, and even food and beverages. Pigment Powder's value proposition lies in its ability to deliver intense, stable coloration, and aesthetic appeal, enhancing the visual attributes of various products while meeting stringent regulatory standards. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications HS Code 3206's structure is organized into Chapter 32 (Tanning or dyeing extracts; tannins and their derivatives; dyes, pigments, and other coloring matter; paints and varnishes; putty and other mastics; inks), Heading 06 (Other coloring matter; preparations as specified in Note 3 to this Chapter, other than those of Heading 3203, 3204 or 3205; inorganic products of a kind used as luminophores, whether or not chemically defined). Subheadings further classify the product based on its chemical composition and form. Pigment Powder falls under this HS Code due to its function as a coloring matter. Trade considerations for Pigment Powder involve packaging in well-sealed, moisture-proof containers to preserve product quality. Shipping requirements necessitate careful handling due to the fine particulate nature of the product. The product's quality standards are governed by numerous international regulations, with specific measurable attributes such as particle size distribution, tinting strength, and opacity forming critical quality parameters. Compliance with WTO and customs documentation standards is imperative for smooth international trade operations.
