Plastic chairs HS Code description

Plastic chairs harmonized system code

Product Overview Plastic Chairs fall under the Harmonized System (HS) Code 9401, which encompasses seats (other than those of heading 94.02), including those convertible into beds, and parts thereof. The plastic chairs under this category are primarily composed of polypropylene, high-density polyethylene, or PVC, offering durability and resilience. These chairs come in a range of colors, sizes, and designs, often featuring ergonomic design elements for enhanced comfort. HS Code 9401 also includes subcategories catering to specific chair types such as swivel seats, adjustable chairs, and stackable varieties, providing a multitude of options for different commercial needs. In terms of commercial applications, these chairs are utilized extensively in food service establishments, retail outlets, event venues, and various processing industries due to their cost-effectiveness and easy maintenance. The market positioning of these plastic chairs is apparent in their high demand, owing to their combination of affordability, functionality, and durability. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The full six-digit HS Code for Plastic Chairs is 9401.80, with the first two digits (94) representing the chapter for furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions, and similar stuffed furnishings. The next two digits (01) denote the heading for seats, and the last two digits (80) designate the subheading for other seats and their parts. This classification is justified as these products meet the definition and criteria set for each hierarchical level. Trade considerations for these chairs include their lightweight nature, which facilitates cost-effective shipping, and their stackable designs, enabling efficient utilization of space in transport containers. Plastic chairs are also resistant to a range of environmental conditions, negating the need for special preservation methods. Quality standards for these chairs include parameters like load-bearing capacity, resistance to weathering, and compliance with safety regulations. It's important to note that these products must adhere to all World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and customs documentation standards to ensure smooth international trade operations.
