Pp rope HS Code description

Pp rope harmonized system code

Product Overview PP Rope, more commonly known as Polypropylene Rope, is a high-strength synthetic fiber-based product that falls under the Harmonized System (HS) Code 5607. This type of rope is characterized by its lightweight, high tenacity, and resistance to most common chemicals. Several specifications of PP Rope are available, including the level of processing, thickness, color, and length, providing flexibility for different commercial needs. Subcategories within HS Code 5607 include Twine, Cordage, Ropes, and Cables, whether or not plaited or braided and irrespective of whether or not they are impregnated, coated, covered, or sheathed with rubber or plastics. The primary commercial applications for PP Rope are broad and include sectors such as food service, retail, agriculture, and cargo handling, amongst others. The rope's competitive advantages lie in its versatility, cost-effectiveness, and durability, making it a valuable commodity in international trade. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The full six-digit HS Code for PP Rope is 5607.50, providing a hierarchical breakdown into Chapter 56 (Wadding, felt and nonwovens; special yarns; twine, cordage, ropes and cables, and articles thereof), Heading 07 (Twine, cordage, ropes and cables, whether or not plaited or braided and whether or not impregnated, coated, covered or sheathed with rubber or plastics), and Subheading 50. The rationale for this classification lies in the product's specific material composition and its physical characteristics. In terms of trade, PP Rope is usually packaged in coils, hanks, or reels and is designed to withstand a broad range of climatic conditions, making it ideal for long-distance transport. The product adheres to stringent international quality standards, with key measureable attributes including tensile strength, diameter, and elongation at break. Compliance with World Trade Organization (WTO) regulations and customs documentation standards is ensured, making the PP Rope suitable for import/export businesses, customs brokers, trade compliance officers, and international buyers.
