Scooter parts HS Code description
Scooter parts harmonized system code
Product Overview Scooter parts classified under HS Code 871410 encompass a range of components specifically designed for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of scooters. These parts include but are not limited to frames, suspension elements, braking systems, steering mechanisms, wheels, and electric motor components tailored for both manual and electric scooters. Typically manufactured from high-strength metals such as steel and aluminum alloys, as well as durable polymers, these components exhibit precise dimensional tolerances and surface finishes to meet stringent safety and performance standards. The classification under 871410 is further subdivided into subcategories based on the part’s function and material composition, such as chassis parts, power transmission elements, and electrical assemblies. Commercially, these scooter parts serve critical roles in the urban mobility, delivery services, and last-mile transportation sectors, supporting both aftermarket servicing and OEM manufacturing. Their design prioritizes durability, corrosion resistance, and ease of installation, offering competitive advantages in terms of lifecycle cost efficiency and regulatory compliance for international markets. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 871410 falls under Chapter 87 (Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock) and Heading 8714 (Parts and accessories of vehicles of headings 8711 to 8713). The six-digit code 871410 specifically identifies parts for motorcycles, including scooters, distinct from other vehicle parts by their compatibility and functional integration with two-wheeled motorized vehicles. This classification is justified by the product’s role as integral mechanical or electrical components designed to maintain or enhance scooter performance. Common trade practices for these parts involve packaging in reinforced cartons or custom-fit crates with protective cushioning to prevent damage during transit. Preservation methods often include anti-corrosive coatings and desiccants to mitigate moisture exposure. Shipping requirements adhere to international standards such as the Incoterms and IMO regulations when applicable. Quality standards conform to ISO 9001 for manufacturing processes and, depending on the part, compliance with UNECE regulations for safety and environmental impact. Documentation must include detailed product specifications, country of origin declarations, and conformity certificates to ensure seamless customs clearance and regulatory adherence in global trade operations.
