Tent accessories HS Code description

Tent accessories harmonized system code

Product Overview Tent accessories classified under HS Code 630690 encompass a range of supplementary components designed to enhance the functionality and structural integrity of tents used across various commercial sectors. These accessories include items such as tent pegs, guy ropes, stakes, connectors, and fastening devices, typically fabricated from durable materials like galvanized steel, aluminum alloys, or high-tensile synthetic fibers. Manufactured through precision stamping, molding, or extrusion processes, these components exhibit high corrosion resistance, tensile strength, and dimensional stability to withstand diverse environmental conditions. Within HS Code 630690, subcategories cover metal fittings, fastening mechanisms, and other non-textile tent adjuncts, ensuring comprehensive classification coverage. Primarily utilized in food service operations, retail displays, and industrial processing environments, these accessories facilitate rapid tent assembly, secure anchoring, and structural adaptability. Their value proposition lies in augmenting tent performance by improving safety compliance, durability under load stresses, and ease of transport, positioning them as essential elements in international supply chains requiring reliable, standardized tent infrastructure. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 630690 falls under Chapter 63 (“Other made-up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags”), specifically within Heading 6306 (“Tarpaulins, awnings and sunblinds; tents; sails for boats, sailboards or landcraft; camping goods”), and Subheading 630690 (“Other made-up articles, including dress patterns”). This classification is justified by the non-textile, accessory nature of the products designed to complement tents rather than constitute primary tent fabrics. Trade compliance necessitates adherence to precise packaging standards such as bulk bundling on pallets or secure cartonization with moisture-resistant materials to mitigate corrosion and mechanical damage during transit. Preservation methods may include passivation treatments or protective coatings to maintain surface integrity. Shipping parameters require clear labeling of material composition, weight (typically ranging from 0.1 to 5 kg per unit), and compliance with International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations when applicable. Quality standards conform to ISO 9001 certification frameworks and relevant ASTM or EN norms for mechanical performance and environmental resistance. This detailed classification and trade specification framework ensures seamless customs clearance, accurate tariff application, and conformity with WTO agreements governing international merchandise trade.
