Trolley cart HS Code description
Trolley cart harmonized system code
Product Overview The trolley cart classified under HS Code 871680 refers to wheeled vehicles primarily designed for the transportation of goods and materials within commercial, industrial, and institutional environments. Typically constructed from high-grade steel or aluminum alloys, these carts feature robust frames, ergonomic handles, and multi-directional swivel casters to optimize maneuverability and load capacity. Dimensions vary depending on model specifications, with load capacities commonly ranging from 100 to 500 kilograms. The product encompasses a range of subcategories including platform trolleys, hand trucks, and utility carts, all engineered to facilitate the efficient movement of goods. Widely utilized across food service operations, retail distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and warehousing facilities, these trolley carts enhance operational workflow by enabling rapid, secure, and ergonomic handling of inventory. Their structural integrity, corrosion resistance, and compliance with industry safety standards position them as essential logistics equipment within international supply chains. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 871680 falls under Chapter 87 (Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling-stock, and parts and accessories thereof), Heading 8716 (Trailers and semi-trailers; other vehicles, not mechanically propelled), with subheading 871680 specifically encompassing non-motorized trolley carts designed for goods transport. This classification is justified by the product’s function as a non-self-propelled vehicle equipped with wheels and intended for manual or mechanical towing or pushing. Standard trade practices for these trolley carts involve packaging methods that protect against mechanical damage and corrosion, typically using shrink-wrap or custom crates with moisture barriers. Preservation techniques may include anti-rust coatings and desiccant inclusion to maintain product integrity during maritime or air freight. Shipping documentation must adhere to WTO and World Customs Organization (WCO) frameworks, ensuring harmonized tariff descriptions and compliance with import/export regulations. Quality benchmarks often align with ISO 9001 standards or equivalent, guaranteeing durability, load performance, and safety compliance critical to international trade transactions.
