Wall lamp HS Code description
Wall lamp harmonized system code
Product Overview Wall lamps classified under HS Code 940519 are defined as fixed or adjustable lighting fixtures designed for wall mounting, primarily intended for interior illumination. These products typically feature a robust frame constructed from materials such as metal alloys, plastic composites, or glass components, with dimensions generally ranging from 15 to 50 centimeters in height and 10 to 30 centimeters in width. Processing levels include precision assembly of electrical wiring, lamp holders compatible with standard bulb types (e.g., LED, halogen), and finishes that meet specified durability and aesthetic criteria, such as powder coating or anodizing. HS Code 940519 encompasses a range of wall-mounted electric lamps, including decorative sconces, functional task lighting, and ambient fixtures, systematically categorized by light source type and design complexity. Commercially, these wall lamps are extensively utilized in food service establishments for accent lighting, retail environments to highlight merchandise, and processing industries requiring localized illumination. Their market positioning emphasizes compliance with international electrical safety standards and energy efficiency, providing importers and exporters with reliable, regulation-compliant lighting solutions suitable for diverse commercial applications. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 940519 falls under Chapter 94: “Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included,” with Heading 9405 covering “Lamps and lighting fittings including searchlights and spotlights and parts thereof, not elsewhere specified or included.” The specific Subheading 940519 designates “Other electric lamps and lighting fittings,” which includes wall-mounted lamps distinct from ceiling or portable fixtures. This classification is justified by the product’s fixed wall installation, electric power source, and functional design characteristics. Trade considerations mandate that wall lamps be packaged securely in anti-static, impact-resistant materials, often with individual cushioning and moisture barriers to prevent corrosion and damage during transit. Preservation methods align with international shipping protocols, including adherence to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code when applicable. Quality standards must conform to IEC 60598 for luminaire safety and performance, ensuring electrical insulation, mechanical robustness, and thermal management. Consistent with WTO agreements and harmonized system nomenclature, this classification facilitates accurate customs declarations, tariff assessments, and trade compliance verification for global import/export operations.
