Webbing sling HS Code description

Webbing sling harmonized system code

Product Overview Webbing sling classified under HS Code 630790 refers to durable textile lifting and securing straps manufactured predominantly from woven synthetic or natural fibers. These slings are characterized by their flat, tubular, or round webbing construction, exhibiting tensile strengths typically ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 kilograms, depending on fiber composition and weave density. Production processes include high-strength weaving, heat-setting, and edge finishing to enhance abrasion resistance and dimensional stability. Within HS Code 630790, subcategories differentiate webbing slings by fiber type (e.g., polyester, nylon, polypropylene) and functional design (e.g., endless loops, adjustable lengths). Commercially, these slings are integral to securing loads in food service logistics, retail inventory handling, and industrial processing operations, offering reliable load distribution and minimizing product damage. Their value proposition lies in lightweight strength, flexibility, and compliance with international safety standards, positioning them as essential components in global supply chains requiring efficient, compliant load securing solutions. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 630790 falls under Chapter 63 (Other Made-Up Textile Articles; Sets; Worn Clothing and Accessories), specifically Heading 6307 (Other made-up articles, including dress patterns), with Subheading 630790 covering "Other made-up articles of textile materials, not elsewhere specified." This classification is appropriate due to the webbing sling’s construction as a fabricated textile article designed for specific industrial use. Trade considerations emphasize packaging in moisture-resistant, reinforced polybags or cartons, ensuring protection against contamination and mechanical damage during transit. Preservation methods may include anti-microbial treatments or UV stabilizers for extended shelf life. Shipping protocols often require palletization with strapping to maintain sling integrity. Quality standards align with ISO 9001 manufacturing certifications and compliance with international lifting safety norms such as EN 1492-1, ensuring consistent tensile strength and elongation parameters. Documentation must adhere to WTO agreements and customs valuation rules, facilitating accurate tariff classification and smooth border clearance in international commerce.
