Woven tape HS Code description

Woven tape harmonized system code

Product Overview The Woven Tape under the HS Code 5806 is a highly sought-after product in the global trade market. It is a narrow woven fabric, consisting of warp without weft, assembled by means of an adhesive, made from man-made or natural fibers. These tapes exhibit key characteristics such as high tensile strength, durability, and resistance to wear and tear. They come in various widths, thicknesses, and patterns, processed to different degrees to suit specific applications. The HS Code 5806 is further divided into subcategories, each designated for a specific type of woven tape, such as elasticated, with selvedges, or with embroidery, etc. The woven tapes find primary usage in various sectors, including food service for packaging, retail for product branding, and processing industries for bundling or sealing purposes. Their market positioning is primarily based on their versatility, durability, and cost-effectiveness, making them a reliable choice for a multitude of commercial applications. HS Code Classification & Trade Specifications The HS Code 5806 for Woven Tape is broken down hierarchically as follows: Chapter 58 (Woven fabrics; special woven fabrics, tufted textiles, lace), Heading 06 (Narrow woven fabrics), which further includes various subheadings for distinct types of woven tapes. The classification is justified by the product's precise manufacturing process, physical attributes, and commercial applications. When it comes to trade considerations, Woven Tape is typically packaged in rolls to minimize any potential damage, and it is preserved in dry and cool conditions to maintain its quality. Its shipping requirements adhere to standard practices for textile products, which include proper packing, labelling, and documentation. The quality standards for Woven Tape under HS Code 5806 are consistent with WTO and customs documentation standards. These tapes are evaluated based on specific measurable attributes such as tensile strength, elasticity, width, and thickness. These specifications, coupled with the correct HS Code, ensure smooth and efficient international trading of Woven Tape.
