Spain Wine Exports 2026 Market Overview & Trends

Spain's export value peaked in 2021 at over $3.48 billion but has remained relatively stable around $3.16 billion in 2024. Despite the steady value, total quantity saw a significant decline from 2.06 billion in 2023 to 787 million in 2024, indicating a sharp increase in unit value or a shift toward premium products.

In 2024, Germany emerged as the leading importer of Spanish wine, with a total value of $391.9 million. The United States and the United Kingdom follow closely, importing $350.5 million and $330.6 million respectively. These top five markets represent a strong Western demand for Spanish wine exports.

Italy shows the most significant growth as an emerging market for Spanish exports, with a substantial 33.9% increase. The Netherlands also demonstrates strong growth at 10.7%. Other key expanding markets include Japan and the United States, highlighting diversifying opportunities for Spanish exporters in both European and global markets.

Standard wine (HS220421) dominates the export portfolio, accounting for over $1.91 billion in 2024. Still wine in larger containers and sparkling wine also contribute significantly, with values of $643 million and $533 million respectively. This product mix underscores the strength of Spain's diverse wine offerings in the global market.
